Repair and Maintenance Tips
If you own a motorized bicycle, or plan on getting one, the repair and maintenance is pretty simple and is not needed very often. Only a few simple tools are necessary.
If you have any experience tinkering with your car, lawn mower or regular bicycle, you should do just fine with periodic adjustments and repairs of a motorized bike.
Each motorized bicycle we sell includes a maintenance schedule sheet as well as tips and tricks to keep your bike in good shape.

Motorized Bike Safety
Riding a motorized bicycle is a unique and fun vehicle, especially  for most people who get onto one for the first time. In addition to being a form of hybrid headturner, it can prove very useful for someone using it as a primary transportation.
It is advisable to check for loose or worn parts before each ride, use back streets and side streets instead of highways, avoid sidewalks but peddle & use courtesy and caution if necessary to use sidewalks.
You might also want to wear a bicycle or motorbike helmet if you ride on a regular basis. Wear lots of protective clothing if you routinely go to speeds over 20MPH.
If you plan to get a motorized bicycle to race around and show off, this is not a good idea. Ultimately the safety of yourself and others depend on mature and responsible behaviors which result in zero accidents, and zero regrets!

Related Laws
 Laws related to motorized bicycles differ somewhat from state to state and can be quite confusing to say the least. The main reason so much gray area exist in regards to motorized bicycles is because;
when the laws were initiated, they were meant for Mopeds which are factory manufactured with an engine below 50cc and a peddle which allows human propulsion. Bicycles which have an aftermarket engine kit installed are regarded as power assisted bicycles and are STREET LEGAL in most states, and just like the mopeds, don't require registration and a driver's license, as long as the engine is said to be under 50cc , and top speed is 20 or 25 MPH (differs from state to state).
A state like the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania reportedly regulates everything that can move without human power, so a motorized bike might have to be registered and probably insured. California, on the other hand, has stringent "Clean Air Laws". For the most part you are not required to register a Power Assisted Bicycle in most states, and would be difficult anyway since there is no VIN number involved. Some states do require a driver's license, however; and rider be at least 16 years old, but required a helmet if under 18 years old.
We can go on forever with this topic, but the simplicity or severity of it mainly depends on the rider.
  • ACTIONS=
  • Obey all traffic laws. Stop at red lights. Stop at stop signs.
  •  Peddle if necessary to use sidewalks.
  • Avoid recklessly speeding and endangering others
  • RESULTS=
  • Less likely to attract the attention of an irritated police officer.
  •  Less likely to hurt yourself or someone else.
NOTE: Always consult with an attorney in your state or jusisdiction to verify laws regarding to your vehicle.
